Initially just for their UK team, this self-run digital game had the potential to be shared globally, across 27 office locations.<\/p>\n<p>Coined the \u2018Diversity Challenge\u2019, this classic \u2018Escape Room\u2019 style game would ask each group to solve puzzles and unravel clues to overcome the challenge. Set against a 60-minute countdown, it was vital that participants experienced every game. This exposure to all puzzles, quizzes and conundrums would give them a full EDI education.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2333 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenhatpeople.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/TheGame090-1024x683-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greenhatpeople.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/TheGame090-1024x683-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.greenhatpeople.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/TheGame090-1024x683-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.greenhatpeople.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/TheGame090-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018\u201cWe were looking to move our client away from rudimentary PowerPoint quizzes to a tech-driven solution. Knowing the reputation and flexibility of Green Hat People, they were the obvious choice. Together, we were able to mould an online game around the client\u2019s EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) priorities and messages, to create a highly engaging, informative and fun bespoke digital experience for teams across their organisation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Kieron O\u2019Shea, Director of Rockitfish<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Delivery<\/h3>\n<p>To accentuate the EDI theme, the game involved a disgruntled employee turned hacker who had infiltrated the company\u2019s system. His mission? To have his former colleagues prove that they understood the importance of equality, diversity and inclusivity. Only then would they regain access to their files.<\/p>\n<p>All tasks, as well as being fun and engaging, were tailored to EDI. Participants were asked to watch videos, analyse newspaper headlines and decipher puzzles. A clue was given for each correct answer, leading to a final showdown where the correct code would unlock the system.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2615 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenhatpeople.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Lockdown-Values-Escape-Game-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greenhatpeople.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Lockdown-Values-Escape-Game-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.greenhatpeople.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Lockdown-Values-Escape-Game.jpg 730w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Outcome<\/h3>\n<p>The game was a huge hit with the company\u2019s employees. Statistics showed that 93% of participants agreed that the activity was both fun and engaging, and that it was useful as a team building activity.<\/p>\n<p>It was clear that there was healthy competition between each group. Working in smaller teams, it allowed every member to be involved on a social and intellectual level. Whereas previous EDI education may have been formulaic, the company now had an interactive, technology solution that truly energised their workforce.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018The group activity was a huge success with the HR team \u2013 it definitely fuelled our competitive spirit, and truly brought EDI to life.
